Henry Lee Lucas Henry Lee Lucas was born on August 23, 1936 to Anderson and Viola Lucas. Lucas was an American criminal, convicted of 11 different cases and was once known as America’s most notorious serial killer. Lucas confessed to being involved in about 600 murders, later recanting his statements. Many police officials believed Lucas was “pulling their legs” admitting to crimes he never committed to improve his living conditions. Lucas was sentenced to life in prison in 1998 by Governor George W. Bush, being the first successful commutation of the death sentence in Texas since its reinstatement in 1982.
